Frequently Asked Questions

for July 4th, 2024

What to Expect

A family-friendly event in a passive park environment, free and open to the public, where you and your family can enjoy the Fair St. Louis fireworks. Only limited entertainment is being provided (besides the DJ), so we encourage you to bring good company, along with kid-friendly activities, if little ones are with you. Keep alcohol, glass, fireworks, sparklers, snap pops, tents, and ground stakes at home!

When are the Fireworks?

Fireworks are expected to begin around 9:45PM on July 4th, but the schedule can change at any time, up until the fireworks actually begin. The fireworks schedule is dependent on and determined by Celebrate STL and not Malcolm W. Martin Memorial Park.

Parking

Limited parking exists around the park and on-street parking is prohibited. It isn't a matter of whether the parking lots fill to capacity, rather how soon they fill. Please carpool and arrive early if you want a spot near the park OR take MetroLink to the East Riverfront (Casino Queen) station and walk to the park via a hard-surface sidewalk.

Food and Drink

A food/drink vendor will be on site. Additionally, you may bring your own, however glass containers and alcoholic beverages are not served or permitted on park grounds. All bags and coolers are subject to search.

What is Prohibited

Drones, alcoholic beverages, glass containers, fireworks of any kind to include sparklers & snap-pops, tents, ground stakes, grills, open flames, and tailgating and loitering in parking areas. Also, chairs, food, and smoking is prohibited on the overlook.

What is Permitted

Food, non-alcoholic drinks (no glass), coolers, blankets, chairs, umbrellas, camera tri-pods, and service animals.

Will the Overlook be Open to the Public During the Fireworks

Yes. The overlook is expected to be open to the public during the fireworks display. Chairs, blankets, food, and smoking are prohibited on the overlook at all times. Tripods will only be allowed in marked/designated areas.
